LogRhythm recently joined Computing at the Enterprise Security and Risk Management event in London. It's interesting that Computing's blog about our presentation highlighted data quality as the key enabler for more effective security.
Vendors often seem to chase the latest buzzwords in the industry with a 'me-too' mentality and there maybe much of this with data lakes and AI/ML being the latest industry preoccupations.
I would argue that those technologies do have the potential to offer much to the security efforts of companies who are struggling to respond effectively to today's threats. However, it is very much a case of 'garbage in, garbage out'.
Providing well-structured, organised data to a machine learning algorithms and data lakes lets organisations quickly gain the value that they have been promised from these technologies.
Want tighter security? Work on your data quality, says LogRhythm Better data quality enables faster time to respond, and therefore a higher likelihood of a positive outcome
